DORKING AND DISTRICT POOL LEAGUE
LEAGUERULES
1. The name of the League shall be theDorking and District Pool League
2. The League shall act through its Committee who shall be elected at the A.G.M.
3. The entry of new members and their placing in the League shall be at the discretionof the Committee.
4. A £50 registration fee from each teamis required at the time of registration in respect of its entry to the League.
5. Any male or female, eighteen years of age or above is eligible to play in the League at the discretion of theCommittee. Registration cards (maximum of 12 players in each team at any onetime) will be issued to players who satisfy the above qualifications. These cards are required to be produced at all League games. 1 player under the age of 18 may be registered, if clearly identified on the registration form and card and may play in league games and knockouts, providing the host landlord agrees.
6. Points as agreed at the A.G.M. will be added throughout the complete season to all other teams, including games already played, if or when a team withdraws from the League for whatever reason. Players from a withdrawn team may no longer compete in K.O. competitions for that season.
7. No monies shall be refunded to teams withdrawing from the League
8. All League matches shall take place on Monday evenings and will start at 8.30 p.m. promptly. Postponement of matches due to inclement weather or extreme circumstances, shall be at the discretion of the Committee. No postponements, for any other reason, will be allowed.
9. All matches will be played on a table in good condition. All table costs are to be met by the home team.
10. League games will be played as follows:-
(a) The two captains decide the order of play by drawing registration cards.
The six singles to beplayed first.
(b) Any team that has more than six players present may change players in the pairs.
(c) Players will toss a coin to decide whobreaks on the first game only, then alternate breaks between the teams.
(d) Pairs partners may only discuss shots prior to the player whose turn it is taking control of the table for the first time, (as per Rule 8c of the 8 Ball Rules) and will confine their discussion to a maximum of 1 ½ minutes, to be enforced by the Team Captains.
11. Any team, home or away which,
(a) Does not field a team at all, or
(b) Does not have at least 4 players at thestart of the game, shall forfeit the match and lose three (3) points. The other team shall receive six (6) points.
(c) One(1) landlord/landlady/manager may playfor either team (not both) on any given night and only needs to register once(Registration card to be marked as appropriate). This player will be inaddition to the 12 allowed.
12. Teams consistently playing short shallhave their league status reviewed by the Committee, whose decision shall befinal.
13. K.O. competitions shall be played asdesignated at the A.G.M. and shall consist of a Team K.O., Mens and Ladies singles, Pairs (male or female), Mixed Pairs, Interhouse singles, B & C league singles and Landlords singles.
14. K.O. Competitions shall be played on orbefore the designated deadline (not after). No changes to the players entered will be allowed once the draws have been made, even if no games have beenplayed.
15. K.O. Competitions will not be open to International, ex-International or Proffessional players
16. Perpetual trophies awarded to winners and runners-up shall be held in the custody of the Licensee concerned and are to be kept securely and in presentable condition.
17. Each participating Public House will receive each week a result sheet showing the weeks results and a current League Table. League winners and runners up will be the teams with the most points. If these are the same, then the most games. In the unlikely event that this still results in a tie, then the winner will be the one with the greatest aggregate score for their two games, or there will be a play off at a neutral venue.
18. Complaints concerning teams or individuals are to be reported to the disputes Officer, by telephone, Within(3) days of the of the alledged offense. This must be followed by written confirmation to the League Secretary within (7) days of the offense, this can be by letter or email.
19. New players may register at any timeduring the season, to replace a previously registered player(providing they have not already played for another team during that season), at the discretion of the Committee. Players may transfer to another team within their originally registered Public House,up to the halfway point in the season, at the discretion of the Committee
20. Any proposals to alter the Rules or playing conditions at the A.G.M. must be received in writing by the Committee at least two weeks before th A.G.M.
21. Any other matters not provided for in theabove Rules shall be decided by the Committee, whose decision is final.
