Welcome to the Dorking pool league
The Summer season starts on Monday 15th June and is 9-weeks long, due to an unusually high number of venues having two teams, some teams may have more home or away matches... The league will finish with a knockout between the top team from each of the three divisions, with 4th spot going to the best second place team score, which could be from any dvision !!
If you click on the SCHEDULE link at the top of the page you will find the next year all planned out, we have avoided all bank holiday weeks and tried to avoid Sundays as much as possible, hence the short summer, allowing the winter to stretch out a bit...
We are also planning to introduce laminated player cards to replace the old paper type, these will be perpetual and will have players name & a unique number,
There is another rule change comming in for the winter and divisional changes, these will be published in de coarse.
A new addition to the schedule are the committee dates in case anyone wants to come along ! contact Wayne Duffell for day and location...
AS THE SUMMER IS SHORT, THE WINTER ENTRY FORMS, INCLUDING COMPETITIONS WILL BE SENT OUT BY 6th JULY TO ALL VENUES... PLEASE RETURN WITH FULL PAYMENT ( TEAM AND COMPS ) BY 31st JULY... LATE ENTRIES FOR THE LEAGUE WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY THE SECRETARY BEFORE THE FIXTURES ARE SET, late competitions may be accepted at the sectetarys discression, providing the draws can accommodate BYE spots. COMPS WILL ONLY BE PLAYED FROM VENUES THAT ENTER AT LEAST ONE COMP OTHER THAT THE TEAM KO.
Interleague
The Dorking interleague team performed above themselves at the national finals with only eight players due to Steve Rains' work commitments and Wayne Duffell with his ongoing back problem. They managed a draw 9-9 and loss 10-6 and a special mention must go to Scott Lee and Andy Chitty who perfomed to a very high standard.
The Interleague season restarts in January, we play to world rules on Sunday evenings against ten other elite teams from other local leagues, either home or away, our home venue is Newdigate club. We still need more players as the squad is very thin on numbers, please contact our new 2009 interleague captain, Andy Chitty for more information.
